Who We Are

The John Holliday-Scott Project is led by a diverse group of individuals, brought together by a deep concern for the fate of the iconic Lutheran Theological Seminary on the University of Saskatchewan campus. Despite a prolonged, heartfelt and concerted effort on our part to focus on the preservation and retention of the landmark building that stood proudly for 57 years, the seminary was demolished in 2025. We remain united in our collective commitment to recognizing the immense contributions to the Saskatoon community by the seminary’s architect, John Holliday-Scott.

Our team is comprised of a wide array of stakeholders: architects, designers, artists, academics and educators, heritage advocates, former and current USask faculty, staff and alumni. But we are also just everyday citizens who have had the great privilege of inhabiting and experiencing the exceptional range of Holliday-Scott’s buildings, aligned in our belief that his impact on Saskatoon’s civic life, culture and identity must be acknowledged and honoured. We hope this evolving architectural exhibition will bring us closer to that goal by providing context, understanding and inspiration to visitors and participants.
